Hla Paw could not speak when he arrived at Venture’s partnering children’s home. As a kindergartener, he looked frail, underweight, and so small for his age. His parents fell into a drug addiction that often arises from the ongoing violence and extreme poverty in Myanmar. They could no longer care for their son, so his uncle stepped in and asked our partner for aid.
After six months of living at the children’s home and eating Venture’s nutritious meals, Hla Paw regained the strength and energy to play again. He’s grown taller and healthier. According to our partner, he’s even overcome his speech impediment!
Thanks to Venture’s generous donors, children like Hla Paw can receive critically needed food, shelter, and love. Although one meal can satisfy hunger, regular meals can transform a child’s entire health and well-being. Simply having access to nutritious meals can create hope and healing for children affected by injustices like war and extreme poverty.
